SIKAP MASYARAKAT MADURA DALAM NOVEL MATAHARI DI ATAS GILLI KARYA LINTANG SUGIANTO

Abstract

The natural state, religious behavior, and traditions of Madurese are the main factors that function as a resilient, brave, chivalrous, religious, and also selfrespecting society. This is reflected in the novel Matahari Di Atas Gili by Lintang Sugianto. In this novel is told how the social conditions of Madurese society with various twists and turns covering it and how the life of Madurese society in facing life challenge. This study uses a qualitative method. Qualitative methods are chosen because the data to be analyzed contains words or languages. The data in this research is a sentence taken from the novel Matahari di Atas Gili by Lintang Sugianto and the data in this research is the Novel Sun on Gili by Lintang Sugianto. Data collection techniques using literature techniques. Data analysis uses steps to classify data according to the focus of the study, then the data are described qualitatively. Madura community personality formed by various factors such as natural events, religion, and the past, the formation of a character that is typical of religious attitudes that bring religious behavior, social attitudes of mutual care and help, attitude to nature that is natural attitude, work ethic attitude that is work hard, resilient, unyielding, the traditional attitude of maintaining and upholding dignity and self-esteem.
