Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country rich in agricultural products. Dragon fruit was originally
known as an ornamental plant, and included a group of cactus plants. Dragon fruit cultivation is
relatively easy and rarely affected by pests and diseases.However, the cultivation of dragon fruit
plants can be attacked by pests and diseases. It takes an agricultural expert to help farmers in
diagnosing and overcoming pests of dragon fruit plants. Time, cost and lack of expert agriculture
experts is an problem that makes farmers do not consult the experts,so farmers do not get the right
solution to pest and disease attack. This research aims to produce an expert system for the
diagnosis of pests and diseases of dragon fruit plants based on the web by imitating the workings of
an experts. The method used in this research is forward chaining to make the reasoning of a
problem an process the knowledge base into conclusions or solutions. The system flow is
processing the symptom data entered by user, then will be processed by system, so that system
output is kind of pest/disease and handling solutions of dragon fruit plants. The research helps
dragon fruit farmers to overcome the problems of pests and diseases of dragon fruit. The results of
the research are information that can help the farmers in overcoming pests and diseases in dragon
fruit plants based on the symptoms experienced and provide solutions, handling and prevention of
any disease.
