ANALISIS KINERJA TRANSPORTASI ANGKUTAN PENUMPANG DI KOTA TARAKAN

Abstract

The problems of passenger transport (TAP) transportation in Tarakan City are multidimensional, such as uneven, uneven and orderly tariffs and routes, inconvenience and less safe, overload of passengers during peak hours and vice versa, operator  system conditions, increased pollution and noise and numbers accidents and traffic offenses, and driver behavior. Briefly the root of the problem is the unity between Spatial Planning (RTRW) Tarakan with TAP. This study aimsto assess the performance of passenger transport based on descriptive statistical methods
to: see demand for population movement; route performance and transport operations; and the
performance of transportation infrastructure, and the level of road service in the form of ratio of
volume per capacity of road. The result shows that the existing performance of TAP in Tarakan
City is not yet optimal in the main road service level on the secondary roads due to the increase
of vehicle volume significantly influenced by the high movement of population, land use,
transportation service level, transportation convenience, load factor, and road condition.
