Abstract

Private library is one form of non-formal education, which often neglected by academics. This community service program is intended to provide reading and learning media in one of private library, TBM Wacan, by providing wall magazine that can be utilized to improve literacy level. It is also intended to give solutions to one of the problems in TBM Wacan, which challenge the availability of the resources to creative class. Specifically, this community service program is targeting children involved in the library and the library administrator. The program is conducted in three phases, which are preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Preparation is done by conducting survey in order to know the actual situation in the field. The implementation is executed in three stages such as training of creating and managing wall magazine, assisting and monitoring the process. At the last phase, evaluation is done on each stages by collecting data on each process. The result of the program indicated that the use of wall magazine is successfully improved their writing and reading skill. In addition, the children also excited to manage the wall magazine.
