Abstract
The empowerment of Karang Taruna at Mulyorejo Village, Ngantang-Malang District
aims to arouse awareness to youth of Karang Taruna about the importance of
education. In addition, this activity aims to increase awareness of the importance of
English by providing English language training for tourism to the Karang Taruna
group so that they have basic knowledge and skills in English. Besides, it is hoped to
be useful when dealing with foreign tourists in line with the village of Mulyorejo as a
village travel. English language training for Tourism will be carried out in four stages
of activities that adopt the pattern of action research, namely preparation,
implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The preparation stage is
carried out by conducting a preliminary survey to look at the conditions in the field
regarding the potential of Karang Taruna. Furthermore, the implementation includes
counseling the importance of English language education and training for Tourism. In
this implementation phase, various learning methods are used, namely lecture method,
study tour method, and demonstration method. The third stage is observation and
evaluation of activities carried out by collecting and concluding data from each stage of the activity. Finally, reflection by providing recommendations on the continuity or
development of subsequent activities after knowing the advantages and disadvantages
of this service program.
