Abstract

Land use in eastern Bali still maintains the existence of agricultural land, in Karangasem
regency the use of agricultural land is 60,891 ha from an area of 83,954 ha, especially in
the village of Tenganan the land is owned jointly because of the strong land management in
accordance with local wisdom. (Tutuko, 2009) states that etymology of wisdom or wisdom
is a person's ability to use his mind to respond to events, objects and situations. Local or
local shows how the interaction space where an event occurs, so that it can be explained
that Local Wisdom is human behavior in dealing with nature and the surrounding
environment that originates from local values and culture that are naturally built in local
communities and adapt to the environment and applies in general, hereditary and
developed into values that are firmly held. The application of awig-awig has a positive
impact on the land in Tenganan village, although the modern era of strict application of
awig-awig is still able to be done and understood well. Associated with the customary rules
regarding marriage that the inheritance to be given to a girl must not be given to a girl who
is married out of Tenganan village. But the inheritance will apply if a daughter marries a
Tenganan village youth so that the inheritance in the form of land, house, garden and
others will be given equally to the boy in the family concerned, in other words that the
married girl out does not have inheritance rights .
