Abstract
Evaluation of IT (Information Technology) governance plays a significant role in
an organization as it is regarded as one of the important strategies in such an
institution. The objective of the evaluation is to ensure the efficiency of the use of
resources regarding IT of an organization. Furthermore, evaluation helps
achieve the organizational goal effectively in terms of utilizing the IT, this is also
to improve the performance and service. This research is aimed at exploring and
examining the capability level of IT governance based on the framework of
Control Objective for Information & Related Technology (COBIT) 5 specifically
in the domain evaluate, direct and monitor (EDM) at Universitas Negeri
Gorontalo. The data were generated from questionnaire, observation, and library
research. These data were further analyzed according to the EDM domain of
COBIT 5, it later used in assessing the capability level of IT governance. The
results reveal that the capability level of IT on EDM domain including all of its
processes is at level 3 (established), meaning that the processes have been
implemented accord to the standard. This enables the accomplishment of the
process.
