Abstract
Tourism includes one of the area that has multiplayer effects on other fields. The potential of tourism development towards sustainable tourism development has an important role in improving the economy of the community. The purpose of the research are to identify the potential of tourism village and tourism development strategy to support sustainable tourism development. The research using descriptive research with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. Data collection using purposive sampling with informant is competent person in their job. Data analysis used consisted of four stages, among others: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that the potential of village resources in supporting the existence as a tourism village is quite diverse both in terms of natural tourism, cultural and historical tourism, creative industries and entrepreneurship in the village tourism, but still require further handling so that the potential can more leverage. Tourism development strategy to support sustainable tourism development is carried out by establishing synergy with various parties, community empowerment activities as the main actors of tourism activities, proactively exploring the attractiveness of villages through creative and innovative activities to create opportunities for new tourism destinations that deserve to developed
