Abstract

In 1988 successfully published Tata Bahasa Baku Bahasa Indonesia (abbreviated TBBBI).
However, five years later (1993) TBBBI revised results were published. The general purpose of
this study is to describe the level of mastery TBBBI by elementary school teachers in Lamongan
District. The general objectives are detailed into the following specific objectives: (1) describe the
grammatical mastery level: (a) the sound, (b) the grammar, and (c) the sentence order; and (2)
describe the grammatical difficulty ratings for the teacher primary school. This research was
designed in quantitative descriptive research. The data source of this research is elementary
school teacher in Lamongan regency which amounts to 40 teachers. The data collection technique
is a test technique. Data analysis technique is done by data identification, data scoring, and
qualification. The results showed that the level of mastery of TBBBI by elementary school teachers
in Lamongan regency classified as less with the average score of 45, the level of mastery of the
sound classified as almost moderate with the average score of 52, the level of mastery of words is
classified less with the average score of 37. The level of mastery of the sentence classified almost
while the average score of 47. The most difficult grammar for elementary school teachers in
Lamongan Regency is the grammar, followed by the sentence and sound order.
